Well, here we are... It's February 7th! Only one week left until we are invited to celebrate the Romances in our lives... Some of us will do this with flowers, chocolates and other assortment of commercial conveniences and others will more poetically invest in scribing letters of love to the one to whom their heart belongs. And then, there are always the cynics who will loathe the day and either ignore it completely or assertively attack it with sinister comments or some other form of mockery.
I personally have played both sides of that card! I have been the cynic and the lover and many things in between... But this year, I am giggling a little at the thought that, in reality, I am the daughter. My birthday is a precise human gestational duration from February 14th... anyone have any questions? Ask Yo Mama!!!
I'm not saying February is the most popular month for conception, I'm just sayin' I also have a cousin who's birthday is only a few days after mine. And, if you're celebrating anyway...
I hope whatever side of the card you're playing this year that you know without question that you are in fact loved, wholly, deeply and truly. And if, by chance, the side you're holding appears to show a bitter cup, why not defy it's gloating and choose to find someone lonelier than you to show affection to. I'm thinking I may take my little one somewhere and pass out Valentine cards this year? Maybe an adult care residence? Maybe a hospital? I don't know? One thing I do know is we will celebrate and we will love and learn to love deeper. That's kind of what the reminder is all about, right?
